Some of our favourite Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Points near the Connemara Coast Hotel include:

The seaside village of Salthill just outside Galway city is a lively place filled with eateries, bars and amusement arcades that skirts the north side of Galway Bay. Salthill Park is a lovely green space overlooking the famous Salthill Prom which snakes along the coastline where the locals walk or jog to kick the wall at Blackrock, home to the famous and iconic Blackrock Diving Tower. Along the Prom, is one of the famous Wild Atlantic Way Discovery Point which is positioned right on what is known as Palmers Rock. These discovery points meander along the full 2500 km Wild Atlantic Way route, now famous the world over. Heading west, the next WAW Discovery Point is at Silverstrand, a lovely beach just off the road to Barna and Furbo. This beach actually protects a tidal lagoon behind it called Rusheen Bay which is home to a lot of flora and fauna and very close to lovely Barna Woods, a great place to bring the family and explore.

Continuing west again for about 6 minutes you will reach the Connemara Coast Hotel, your home from home in Galway. You and your family can enjoy a lovely, safe and fun environment where sea breezes can be enjoyed whilst playing tennis onsite and enjoying the kid’s playground along with our lovely walks along the shoreline where the kids can go beachcombing. Don’t forget to get the family selfie at the Connemara Coast Gazebo which is right on the shoreline!

Further west of the hotel, you will find the lovely beaches of Furbo and Spiddal and there is always great shopping at Standun and Spiddal Craft Fair, all just minutes away from the hotel. Beyond Spiddal, there is Tra Sailin and Tra Mor near Inverin. So much choice and only minutes away!
