Ensuring the health and well-being of our employees and guests is our most important priority.

Face masks are no longer mandatory in Ireland from the 28th February 2022, however, we have advised all our staff that they may continue to wear a mask if that is their preference. We would therefore advise the same to all our Guests and shall leave you decide whether you choose to wear a mask. We have removed all Covid-19 guidance signage but we will continue to provide hand sanitisers in all key locations

The Connemara Coast Hotel are delighted to have completed Fáilte Ireland’s Infection Prevention Control for Tourism Businesses course showing our commitment to providing our team and customers with a safe space.

1. Are there any changes to check in or check out?

Check-in time is 4.00pm with Check-out time at 12.00pm. We will try our best to accommodate early check in requests to reduce wait times and accommodate travel schedules, however this cannot be guaranteed.

Sanitising stations will be provided at the main entrance of the hotel as well as various points around the property.

Each guest will receive a Welcome Letter from the General Managaer, Jonathan Kay, explaining how we do things here at the Connemara Coast Hotel.

2. Will Valet Parking & Porterage Services be Offered?

No, valet parking will not be available at this time. If guests would like luggage service, guests will be required to leave the bag on the floor. Our porter will sanitise the luggage handle and then proceed to bring the luggage to the room. Before hand over or placement of the bag in the room, our porter will sanitise the handle again.

4. Are there any changes to my room?

Stayover rooms will only be cleaned on request. Clean towels, sheets, toiletries will be available on request and this is to safeguard you, other Guests and our Team members.

Government and WHO guidelines for cleaning and sanitising guest rooms will be adhered to. Frequently touched areas will be thoroughly disinfected regularly during your stay. (i.e. telephones, remote controls, safes, switches, handles, taps etc). A Microbial solution with appropriate signage will be applied to high-touch point items in bedrooms. This solution kills viruses and bacteria to touch.

Extra pillows and blankets stored in guest room wardrobes will be removed, but available on request.

We do not operate a mini-bar service however room service will be available for the delivery of beverages and light snacks. A room service tray charge will apply ; 8.00 euro for food tray & 4.00 euro for drinks tray (per room). 

Tea and coffee making facilities will be available in the room and the proper sanitisation of this facility is adhered to.

Bottled water will continue to be provided in the room for your compliments.

5. What additional cleaning protocols are being introduced?

Industry leading cleaning and sanitising protocols are used to clean guest facilities, with particular attention paid to high-touch items including television remote controls, toilet seats and handles, door and furniture handles, taps, nightstands, telephones, in-room control panels, light switches, temperature control panels, luggage racks and flooring. A Microbial solution (with signage) will be applied to high-touch point items in bedrooms and in some public areas. The specialised film has a copper component which reduces the growth of any virus cells and is applied to heavy contact surfaces that our guests and staff use such as door handles.

6. Will there still be a buffet breakfast?

Buffet breakfast at the Connemara Coast Hotel is in operation. There is a one way system in place with team members chaperoning guests in an orderly and safe way. Orders will be taken for tea/coffee, breads and some hot breakfast items served from the kitchen. Tables in restaurants and bars will be arranged to ensure appropriate distancing and menus will be laminated to facilitate sanitisation.

7. Will the restaurants and bars be open?

Yes, the restaurants and bars will be open and appropriate changes to seating will be made to accommodate social distancing. Reservations for both restaurants and our bar are recommended so please contact a member of our team to avoid disappointment. Delicious menus are tailored to offer our Guests seasonal specials and signature dishes using the finest ingredients available. 

8. Will the leisure centre be open?

Yes, our Coast Club Leisure Centre is open but with some changes. For an update on times, please contact the leisure centre reception.

  • Opening hours for the Coast Club, are 06:45 to 21:45 Mon-Fri and 07:45 to 20:45 Sat/Sun/Bank Holiday Monday.
  • Our indoor jacuzzi and sauna are currently not in use however our outdoor hot tub is in use. 
  • The children’s outdoor playground is open.
  • We request that all guests use their bedrooms for showering and changing after using the leisure centre.
  • Bathrobes and slippers will be available on request and will be delivered to your room. Please contact hotel reception.

9. Concierge Services

Our front of house team members knows the area intimately and can advise you on what to do, where to go, safe beaches to visit, sites to see and things to do. Obviously, things have changed, however you can still enjoy this beautiful area and be captivated by its beautiful scenery and warm and friendly people.

We are located 10.6 kilometres from Galway City Centre which is 15 minutes by car.

Is there a Bus Service to Galway City from the Hotel?

Bus Route 424 stops and picks up at the bus stop directly across the road from the hotel. The first bus goes to Galway Bus Station from the Hotel at 7.50 am and the last bus back to the hotel from Galway City is at 18.00 midweek and weekends at 20.20.

What beaches are nearby?

There is a great choice of beaches nearby ; Furbo Beach is 1km away, Spiddal Beach just 10 minutes drive and Silver Strand Beach just 5 minutes drive from the Hotel. Salthill Beach is 10 minutes drive from the Hotel.

Yes, Connemara Coast Hotel have installed 6 EV charging points for our guests. Conveniently located in the hotel carpark for Hotel Resident’s use. ROOMS 

What time is check-in and checkout?

Check-in in time is 4pm and checkout time is 12 noon.  We try to be flexible but unfortunately there are other guests checking in to rooms from 4pm so for checkouts after 12 noon there is a €25 hourly charge.

Do you have family rooms in the Hotel?

Our family rooms cater for 2 adults and 2 children. We also have interconnecting rooms for larger families, please call us on 091 592108 or email us at info@connemaracoast.ie to make a booking.

Do your Family Rooms have Fridges?

We have a number of Fridges which you can reserve at the time of booking. There is a security deposit of €100 which is refunded on checkout.

Are you allowed to smoke at the Hotel?

Please note that we operate a strict non-smoking policy in the hotel. There are designated smoking and seating areas on the grounds.

Can I arrange for amenities or gifts to be placed in the room? What do you offer? 

Yes, we arrange for wine, Champagne, sparkling wine, chocolates and flowers to be delivered to your room.

What type of room should I book for three adults? 

Either a triple with 3 single beds or inter-connecting rooms

Do you have wheelchair accessible rooms? 

Yes, please contact the hotel directly to book 

Does the hotel provide international adaptors?

Yes with a €10 deposit

Do you offer hairdryers in your guestrooms?

From 08:00 to 10:00 Monday-Friday and to 11:00 on Saturday and Sunday

Do you have 24-hour room service?

Yes with some restrictions so please speak to a member of the team.

What times are Dinner and Bar Food available from?

Bar Food is available daily from 12 noon to 9pm.  Dinner service in either or our Restaurants is from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Do you have a Kids Club?

The Little Pirates Kids Club operates during busy periods. Please contact a member of the Coast Club. 

What fitness facilities do you have at the hotel? 

18.5 meter indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, fitness classes

What is the Leisure Centre Opening Hours?

Times are changing according to government guidelines so please be mindful of frequent change. Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 21:45 Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays 07:30 to 20:45

Do you have a Spa at the hotel? 

Escape at the Coast is available at the Connemara Coast Hotel. Please contact a member of the Coast Club.

Do you have a jacuzzi?

Yes, we have a jacuzzi beside the swimming pool.

Do you have walks?

Yes, there are pathway walks both east and west of the hotel entrance and there is a coastal walk around the hotel that meanders down to our wedding gazebo along the shoreline

Do you do weddings? 

Yes, we host weddings of anything from 2 to 300 people and we are certified to host civil ceremonies

Do you do conferences? 

Yes, we host conferences and meetings of all types from 2 to 450 delegates

Are there beaches nearby? 

There is a stony beach onsite and the nearest sandy beach is 1 km west of the hotel and is called Furbo Beach. Other beaches include Spiddal Beach or Tra Mor plus Tra Sailin. To the east of the hotel, Silver Strand is approximately 4 kms and there are several beaches in Salthill including Blackrock Diving Tower, circa 7 kms.

What is there to see nearby? 

  • We are just 25 mins drive to Rossaveel port which is where you catch the ferry to the Aran Islands.
